Democratic National Convention Prayer Is God now a PR move?

Democratic National Convention Prayer

Is God now a PR move?

At the Democratic National Convention, there was a certain public prayer that had peculiar coincidences and careful wording. It opened with a generic, "Dear God". This is an obvious attempt to attract to all monotheistic, and perhaps polytheistic, religious political followers. Through the prayer that appeared to be more of a prepared speech, the prayer seemed to then focus on the Christian-follower's God with references to "Father" and "Jesus". Is the DNC trying to win over Republican fence-sitters with a potentially offensive prayer? Or was this a prayer that will have changed history? The Democratic party has typically secular views on issues that disagree with Biblical principles. It is common knowledge that the church is typically supported by Republicans. Is this a strategic prayer or a genuine hope in God's favor in the 2012 election? You decide.

  1. As a Christian and a Democrat, I am offended that you would think that because they are liberal they can not also be a Christian. Just because they are not preaching the word of the Lord everyday, does not mean that they are not a follower. I think if Jesus was on earth today (which supposedly he is) he wouldn't be telling everyone "Hey go follow God". Jesus would be living a Christ like life. That is what Obama is doing. I'm not saying he is a frequent church attender but just in the fact that he is a known follower of God is enough for me.

  2. It wasn't until I grew deeper with the Lord that I became a democrat. Democrats love people. Conservatives love money. It's not wrong of you to love money as your primary political view, it's just different. I would appreciate your reaffirmation in my love for people, just as I have reaffirmed your love for money. Even though Jesus has a few words about loving money.

    Consider it DECIDED.

  3. I think if you love Jesus from a Democratic standpoint or from a Republican standpoint that is all that matters. Everyone can worship in different ways and still have their own personal opinions and beliefs toward their own personal choice in God.
